Expert Group on Policing (EPG)

In continuation of an ongoing campaign to get the Commonwealth to establish an EPG, CHRI successfully got such a proposal included in the 2007 Draft Communiqué at the November 2007 Senior Official's Meeting. It was not however included in the final CHOGM document. Therefore, CHRI London held a workshop on 'Police Reform' in June 2008 designed to inform Commonwealth High Commissions about the utility of an EPG. This workshop formed part of a campaign to get the Commonwealth Law Ministers’ support for the EPG project prior to their Edinburgh meeting in July 2008. CHRI London attended this meeting and made a presentation on the EPG project.
