The Executive Committee (EC) of Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI), India, is pleased to appoint Mr. Venkatesh Nayak, Head, Access to Information Programme, as the new Director and Chief functionary of CHRI India, with effect from 16 May 2022.

Mr. Sanjoy Hazarika, demitted office as CHRI's International Director on 31 March, 2022, after serving for five and a half years.

CHRI thanks Mr. Hazarika for his immense contribution to the stability, growth and reach of the organisation. We wish him the very best in his endeavours. He will, of course, continue to be a valued member of the CHRI family.
