A Palestinian returns home after 27 years in Indian prisons

The People’s Beacon, an annual magazine from the  Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) to commemorate the World Human Rights Day on December 10, 2016,  published this article. A collaboration between the OHRC and CHRI, it addresses the many obstacles faced by a Palestinian national to return to his family in Gaza after finishing his long prison sentence in India. CHRI’s persistent advocacy with the governments of India, Egypt and Palestine led to his repatriation.
