Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir (J and K) RTI Movement conducted a half day sensitisation workshop for journalists at the Institute of Management and Public Administration (IMPA), Srinagar on July 25, 2017. More than 25 representatives from print and electronic media participated in the workshop.   Mr. Nitin Sethi, Deputy Editor, Scroll, explained the value of RTI to investigative journalists through his own experiences. Participants also interacted with CHRI Chairperson and its Director on the difficulties faced by journalists in the context of their work, particularly in a conflict-affected state. Mr. Venkatesh Nayak gave presentations on select case studies of how the media had used RTI laws in India and abroad for in-depth reporting.
