CHRI's Submission to NCRB on Prison Statistics India

CHRI made a submission to the National Crime Records Bureau (Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India) in March 2017 on improving quality of data published in the annual series Prison Statistics India report. The submission provides specific recommendations on existing data sets that require clarification and further detailing, as well as suggests new data sets that can be introduced to the annual report to widen the scope of the statistics presented and provide a better understanding of how prisons operate in India.
