Jail Mail: International Women’s Day 8th March 2020: ‘Securing rights of women prisoners’

On International Women's Day 2020, CHRI reiterates the need for collective engagements to secure the rights of women prisoners. To achieve it, CHRI has published a user's guide – Standards Behind Bars: Securing Rights of Women Prisoners. It sets out standards drawn from various national and international documents including Model Prison Manual 2016, the UN Standard Minimum Rules for Treatment of Prisoners (Nelson Mandela Rules) 2015 and the UN Rules for the Treatment of Female Prisoners and Non-Custodial Measures for Women Offenders (Bangkok Rules) 2010.
