Report on Roundtable on Pretrial Detention and 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda

On 12th April 2018, CHRI organised a round table discussion on the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and pre-trial detention. This report documents the discussions that ensued. The meeting deliberated upon the role of civil society groups especially from the Commonwealth countries; share information on existing work carried out by the participants on pre-trial detention & the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); and, discuss how civil society can raise awareness and understanding about the SDG indicator on pre-trial detention and the nexus between pre-trial detention practices and socio-economic development.
